January 2004 Events

Jan 10, 6 PM - 9 PM, Opening Reception, Jan Lipes - Impressions, The Work of Jan Lipes at New Hope’s Gratz Gallery & Conservation Studio. Jan Lipes is returning to Gratz Gallery for his third annual exhibition, featuring all new work by the celebrated Bucks County painter. Lipes’ paintings will remain on display at the gallery through February 8, 2003. The exhibition will include local landscapes depicting familiar country, town and street scenes from Bucks and Hunterdon Counties: the Canal towpath, the Delaware River and architectural landmarks such as the Free Bridge, Bowman’s Tower and Fonthill. February 2004 Events

Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit - For Outdoor exhibit, applications must be postmarked by February 20, 2004.  For Indoor Exhibit, applications must be postmarked by February 28, 2004.

Applications are now available for the 2004-2005 New Hope, PA Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition.  Go to www.NewHopeArtsInc.org for more details. Applications are also available at the New Hope Borough Hall, New Hope Visitor´s Center and Riverbank Arts in Stockton, New Jersey or call 215-862-3396.

The juried exhibition is open to sculptors working in all media suitable for outdoor exhibition. Works will be on exhibit for approximately 11 months and accepted artists will be paid a stipend. All works must be available for sale.

Feb 21, 8 PM – 11 PM, Jazz Night Returns!, Michener Art Museum, The renowned vocalist Pearl Williams makes a special appearance, following a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception. Williams hails from a family of stellar musicians. Early in her training, she studied classical piano, although her main interest was to become a successful jazz vocalist. Apr 17, 7-9 PM, Sculpture New Hope 2004, The Patrons Preview and Indoor Sculpture display takes place in the rear building at Union Square, Bridge Street in New Hope, PA. The exhibition offers an inspiring glimpse at the amazing diversity in the art world today featuring classical bronze nudes and hand carved stone work to folk art and whimsical bas relief carvings. Artists from around the country applied for the exhibition that includes works from artists throughout the east coast. Nov 7, 6 PM. The Bucks County Playhouse auditions for this season's production of Annie. The Playhouse is seeking girls ages 6 thru 12 to fill various roles including the title role of Annie. Girls will be seen in the order that they arrive. Those auditioning should bring a headshot (school photo is acceptable) and resume. Girls auditioning should be prepared to sing 16 bars of any song with piano accompaniment and should bring their own sheet music for the Playhouse accompanist. Girls may be asked to dance. Rehearsals for Annie will begin the weekend of November 20, 2004.

The Bucks County Playhouse production of Annie will run from December 1 thru December 12, 2004. Performances will be Wednesday at 2 PM and 8 PM, Thursday and Friday at 11 AM and 8 PM, Saturday at 4 PM and 8 PM and Sunday at 2 PM.
