I FLEW

I did it - on Father's Day. I went on my bi-plane ride. You can read about it under FACES & PLACES. The plane is named The Cannibal Queen.

I am not sure what is up lately. I seem to be doing a lot of things I used to do years ago. Like ice-skating. And flying a plane. And now, I am going to Maine again. I went last year to visit a friend in the Blue Hill area. I am going again next week. This year I am driving up with a girlfriend (yep - leaving George temporarily behind!) and we will make a day trip to Monhegan Island on our way up the coast.

My artist friend Jerry Cable goes there every summer to paint and, it just so happens, that he will be there the same time we visit. He has cautioned us that there is not much to do on Monhegan but, hey, that is one of the things I like most about Maine - it is layed back, relaxing, has wonderful views, and is a great place to just soak in the smells and cooler temperatures.

George has never been to Maine. Until we went to Martha's Vineyard for our honeymoon, he had never even been to New England! (Those West Virginia folk!) Well, he LOVED Martha's Vineyard. I think he will love Maine, too. I am working on getting him up there in September. Can I stand it? Two times to Maine in one year! Yippeee!

FLOOD UPDATE

Well, people have been calling me asking if New Hope and Lambertville are open.

Yikes! Both towns were almost fully operational just three days after the river reached its highest point. Tourism is how these towns stay alive. Unfortunately, the national press plays up the dramatic, not taking into account they might be keeping people away from visiting here.

YES, we are open- please come visit. Odette's is one of the only businesses still closed - they are hit hard by the flood. For updated information on the Cabaret at Odette's, go to www.bobeganentertainment.com/Odettes.html.

FREE MONTHLY DRAWING!

This month's Free Monthly Drawing is a $50 American Express gift certificate - sponsored by Heritage Village at Lambertville.

The June Winner of two tickets to Showcase the Arts of New Hope, sponsored by New Hope Arts - well, actually, this month there was no winner. One was selected but couldn't use the tickets. Another was selected but never responded and then it was too late. This is the first time that the drawing prize was not awarded.

Note: If you are signing up for the Free Monthly Drawing, make sure you bypass your spam filter and allow email to come through from editor@bullockmarketing.com - otherwise you may miss receiving the notice that you have won.
