CUTE
IS IN
I've
said it before and I will say it again! My whole life has changed
since Feb 3rd
when George and I went to pick up our puppy, Lexi. I thought
I wouldn't survive the first month, but here I am - she's 4 and
half months old and I think I have aged 10 years.
The good news - I can now get several
hours of work done a day - when she sleeps of course. I pretty
much know her
schedule
and she is 80% potty trained
- maybe more - she hasn't had an accident in several days. Lexi
has already been through 5 weeks of puppy class. She was the
most hyper and the smallest in the class and, I suspect, that
she might have failed the class if they didn't have a policy
of passing every student. They told us that we need to put her
into high activity situations to teach her not to get so excited
each time she sees a human or dog within sight or sound.
In an effort to help improve her social skills, she and I took
a walk a couple of weeks ago (before Easter) in Peddler's Village.
There is a little pet accessories store there that allows pets.
In we went and walked around the store while the store owner
finished up a phone call. When she hung up the phone, she quickly
pointed to a row of new doggy hats that had just come in. She
asked me to have Lexi model one of them. I immediately fell in
love with the little pink doggy hat with a black and white polka
dot ribbon encircling the top.
Anyone who knows me knows that
I am far from being a "froo
froo" person. Heck, I used to be a New Jersey wreck diver!
Needless to say, I bought the $30 pink hat !"(I don't spend
that much on my OWN headgear!) and let Lexi wear it for the rest
of our walk. She instantly became a magnet for "Ooooh, look
at that cute little dog with the pink hat."
So sue me - I have become a sucker
for "cute" and
I'm OK with it.
