We need your voice to spread the word to drive with caution while traveling on Windy Bush Road, Route 232. There have been a number of fatalities and very serious accidents along this road. In October there were two fatalities in one week one near Pidcock Creek Road and the other close to Street Road.

Please be aware that drivers are passing in non passing zones, going through stop signs and quite a few vehicles are traveling at high speeds over the posted speed and on many occasions passing school buses with blinking red lights. Your neighbors are trying to exit or enter their driveways and the recycling and trash trucks may be stopped right over the hill.

Windy Bush, like many of the roads in New Hope and Solebury, has shoulders with deep ditches and no place to pull over in an emergency, hidden driveways, poor site visibility at key intersections and deer. Remember the next life taken may be yours or someone you know. Spread the word to "SLOW DOWN!!!" Thank you! -
Pat Yorks (12/02)

I am very interested in relocating to Bucks County. As a child, I spent quite a bit of time at my Grandparents farmhouse on the Deleware Canal just across the Uhlerstown Covered Bridge. Now, I would like nothing more then to return with my family and raise my children in the area.

If anyone reading this has a job opportunity or, knows of one, please contact me...I offer over five years of experience in the public sector handling varied tasks... public/media relations, policy analysis and development, and managerial duties.

... I was employed as the Campaign Mgr for NM Lt. Governor Walter Bradley's gubernatorial campaign... served as aSr. Aide for a San Jose, CA City Council Member, served on the Bd of Trustees for a community college district and as policy director and lobbyist for a state organization...

Thank you for your time and consideration and I look forward to speaking with you. -Shane A. Sommers , sasommers@comcast.net (11/02)

Thanks printing the article on the many talents of Miss Julia Yorks. In a society that tends to focus on the negative, it was refreshing to read something positive about today's teens. From the sounds of it, Julia could be a role model for other local kids. We certainly could use more motivated teens in this area. Way to go Julia. Sounds like you are a star in the making. Keep us posted on her aspiring career.- S. Fainelli, Langhorne, PA (09/02)

Re: Jim Hamilton & LEF fundraiser June 1st:
Cudos to Robin Larsen for successfully coordinating this major fundraiser that also honored Jim Hamilton. We attended the event and had a wonderful evening out for a good cause . The food and auction items and especially the company were all superb.

Dinie and I have very fond memories of meeting Jim in 1979 as proud new owners of an c.1860 semi-attached brick home on South Main Street in Lambertville. It was small and on the 'wrong' side of Bridge Street, but it was what we, all of Twenty-something, could afford at the time ($27,000) and it was 'ours'. Hamilton was offering free 1/2 hour design consultations upstairs from the bank in the old Chamber offices, funded by a Community Development grant written by the late Irv Goldberg, a consultant to the city.

Jim treated us with respect as if we were discussing the restoration of the finest house on Delaware Avenue. He encouraged us to join the Historical Society (we did) and to put our house on the Tour as a work-in-progress (we did that too!). We were soon joining Jim for "Singles at the Swan" (Monday night dinners ) which later became "Suppers at the Swan" because so many individuals got married because of meeting there...

Attending new restaurant openings, Judy and Jim's wedding, seeing you with your grandchildren...our friendship has blossomed since that design meeting in '79. Congrats again on being honored at the LEF fundraiser. You deserve it. Both twin river towns have benefitted greatly from your expertise, entrepenurism and generosity: we are in your debt. - Dinie and Carl Glassman, Wedgwood Inns/New Hope (07/02)

I recently completed a form on your Internet Site to ask if it is possible to have a White Christmas around New Hope PA. We live in Queensland, Australia and our Christmas temperature is normally 100f (37c). We have never had a cool day or snow at Christmas so it is a plan to have a White Christmas before it is too late to do so.

Attached are photos of New Years sunrise taken 4:30am this year. As you can see it was another hot day but the Pacific Surf was warm, the Prawns,Mud Crabs, Corel Trout and Tropical Fruit Salad sprinkled with Macadamia Nuts and washed down with an Aussie Beer was nice.- John Mewett, Queensland, Australia (1/02)

Your New Hope website brought back many fond memories.
I lived in New Hope from 1981 - 1993. Prior to that I was raised in Doylestown, but spent most of my free time in New Hope. I have many wonderful memories of Thanksgiving, and Christmas in New Hope. Getting snowed in, and living in down town New Hope is one of my best memories and favorite time of year there. Many people have since passed away. I wish I could have said good-by. I'm sure many things have changed and I understand that I would not recognize the place. I miss the old days. - Frank Nieves, Salem, OR (12/01)

Hi--just love to add, and nothing against Kirin Mishra, but other fantastic yoga teachers represent, and may be called yoga, in new hope too. One is Mary at L'Avantage who has been teaching for years and is very famous (I think she is over 70 years old). The other is Maureen Schott at the Center Club who has also been teaching in the area for twenty years and has a phenomenal reputation. Maureen is the consumate teacher with fantastic training. That is what is interesting about new hope - not one person, even a fine yoga teacher, defines it all...broad generalizations are always a bit dangerous in my opinion. Thanks and great web site. - Mae Sakharov (8/01)

Greetings to the editor, Just read your July news. Activity in New Hope these days just amazes me. In May, we had the privilege to sightsee most of Bucks Co.and found it a thriving metropolis. We enjoyed many of the fine dining "spas": in particular Pipersville Inn. Loved it.... We were amazed to see all the condominium complexes, all very urban and lovely. We also dined at the Logan Inn. The restoration is wonderfully accomplished and the cuisine was most enjoyable. Thanks for writing again. Enjoy keeping up with events. - Trudi Gleason, Visalia, CA (8/01)

____
I did visit your town. We were ticketed by your police force for parking mildly askew in a valid parking area. You could not even read the signs since half of the letters were missing. This left a very bitter taste in my mouth and unfortunately I will never return. Your town reeks of a tourist trap. - Anonym. (8/01 )
