New Hope 2005 is coming to town on April, 30.
New Hope Arts, Inc. once again presents Sculpture New
Hope – Indoors & Out - an exhibition featuring
more than 70 pieces by 40 nationally and internationally
recognized artists. The show will open at 2 Stockton
Avenue at the corner of Bridge and Stockton Avenue
across from the New Hope Ivyland Train Station in New
Hope, Pa on Saturday, April 30, 2005.
This
year’s
exhibition offers an inspiring glimpse at the amazing
diversity in the art world today with
everything from classical bronze nudes and hand carved
stone work to abstract steel constructions and whimsical
bas relief carvings. Hundreds of artists from around
the country applied for the juried exhibition. The
exhibition speaks very highly of the importance of
area artists in the broader American art scene with
approximately one half of the exhibiting artists
from Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
Among
the artists selected are noted sculptors who
have been awarded Fellowships from the National
Endowment of the Arts and important foundations such
as New
YorkFoundation for the Arts and the Pollock-Krasner
Foundation. The
selected artists have won numerous awards in prestigious
international and national exhibitions and are
included in the permanent collections of prominent
museums
as well as in public and private collections throughout
the country and abroad.
The
show includes an Indoor Exhibition at the Stockton
Avenue space, donated
by Tom and Alycia Scannapieco,
Scannapieco Development Corp. Seven monumental
scale works will be installed throughout New
Hope. The
Indoor Exhibition continues through May 29, 2005
and the Outdoor
Exhibition will continue through April of 2006.
All works on exhibit are for sale. A guide to
outdoor installations will be available at the show
as
well
as at galleries
and other key locations throughout New Hope.
